peter is from the small Channel Island of Guernsey and has been featured on our Picture of the Day several times, and today's featured photo reminds us why. There is a sense of spontaneity about this picture. Peter explains: "I do like this photo for the shocked look on the guy's face. I do not think they are a couple; it was more about her mates egging her on. It's just a number after the set which was called sweet 16 and it was number 65 of that set. All taken at a young lady's 16th birthday. Oh and she's not the one in this photo."

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day. The gallery facility here is completely free; all you need to do is register as a user on our discussion forum and you will get an automatic 25MB of space, which is good for around 125 pictures uploaded at web resolution, about 200K per picture.
