Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new 55-200mm F4-5.6 DC for the Four Thirds Digital SLR Camera System. This lens has already been well accepted as a high quality optic by users of Sigma, Canon, Nikon-D, Fuji and Pentax digital SLRs.

This compact telephoto zoom lens was exclusively designed for use with digital SLR cameras. The image circle was designed to match the size of the image sensors of digital SLR cameras that also allows compact body and lightweight. This remarkably compact high performance zoom lens is ideally suited to a wide range of subjects, taking care of the majority of telephoto requirements. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 110cm (43.3”) and maximum magnification of 1:4.5.

It is expected that Sigma will introduce the Four Thirds fitting to an ever - expanding range of their lenses in the future.

* If Olympus E-1 digital cameras is used, the angle of view will be equal to 110-400mm focal length.
