18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 DC and 55-200mm f/4-5.6 DC now with HSM for Nikon digital SLR cameras

The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC HSM for Nikon and 55-200mm F4-5.6 DC HSM for Nikon.

The inclusion of HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) into the 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC and 55-200mm F4-5.6 DC, originally released to the market in November 2003, now allows quiet and high-speed auto focusing with all Nikon DSLR cameras.

18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC HSM for Nikon

This zoom lens has been designed to suit the characteristics of digital SLR cameras. The lens is compact with a maximum diameter of 69.6mm, overall length of 60mm and weighing only 250grams. It has a variable angle of view of 76.5°- 31.7°. The use of aspherical lenses provides correction for various aberrations to produce a high level of optical performance throughout the entire zoom range. The 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC HSM lens has a minimum focusing distance of 25cm at all focal lengths and is capable of close up photography with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.5.

This compact telephoto zoom lens is exclusively designed for use with digital SLR cameras. The image circle is designed to match that of APS-C size image sensors. The lens is compact and lightweight with an overall length of 84.6mm and weight of only 310grams. It has a filter size of 55mm and maximum diameter of 71mm. This remarkably compact high performance zoom lens is ideally suited to a wide range of subjects. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 110cm and maximum magnification of 1:4.5.
