Some pictures from the show today
Today at Focus on Imaging here at the Birmingham NEC was a bit complicated for me after my car broke down in the hotel car park and several hours was wasted while the I waited for the AA to sort me out. But I still managed to scoot around the show and build a gallery of images to give you an impression of what's going on at Focus this year.
It has been a bright (welcome sun shining through for once!) and cheery, as well as busy, opening day at Focus 2010, with the show netting a global premiere of Panasonic Lumix's two new Micro Four Thirds G2 and G10 cameras. Seeing as the big annual Japanese show, CP+, was to have been the launch pad for these cameras in just four days time, the success of Panasonic UK in getting the launch brought forward for Focus is remarkable. Panasonic explained that Micro Four Thirds has carved a 10% share of the UK interchangeable lens (including DSLRs) market.
As you will see in the picture gallery below there are plenty of companies to visit and get your hands on products and to get those technical answers sorted. And there are bargains to be had, especially from Jacobs - who seem to have booths everywhere you look.
Incidentally, all the pictures in the gallery below were taken with a pre-production Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2, straight out of the camera and simply re-sized for the Web:
