Fun in the sun with the Olympus C-460 ZOOM del Sol

The new Olympus C-460 Zoom del Sol digital camera features an innovative sunshine LCD to allow you to enjoy your shots even on a bright day. This compact model also boasts 4 million pixels, a 3x optical zoom and a new optimised image processing system, TruePic TURBO, which displays images more quickly, in turn producing sharper prints. The C-460 Zoom del Sol is your ideal travel companion for fun in the sun. The camera will be available exclusively through Dixons Tax Free stores in major UK airports, RRP will be £249.99 (inc VAT).

The C-460 Zoom del Sol offers a Super Macro mode which allows you to shoot from as close as 7cm away. The camera’s movie function with sound enables you to record sporting action shots or funny moments at the office party. The model also offers five special scene programs to cater for a variety of photo opportunities. These include Landscape, which is perfect for capturing impressive mountain ranges, and Night Scene which produces stunning results after dark.

Furthermore, the camera supports the PictBridge communication standard which eliminates the need for a PC for printing. You simply have to connect the model to a PictBridge compatible printer, such as the Olympus P-10, to produce high quality, laminated prints with sharp contrast and detail. The USB AutoConnect interface, however, enables you to download images quickly and easily to a computer if necessary.

The C-460 Zoom del Sol will come with rechargeable batteries, a charger, a 16MB xD-Picture Card and CAMEDIA Master 4.2 software.

SUNSHINE LCD TECHNOLOGY
A footnote:
Olympus’ new sunshine LCD technology enables you to review your shots even in direct sunlight.

A standard display reflects sunlight from its surface and therefore in bright sunshine it is difficult to review an image. The sunshine LCD, however, has semi-transparent layers which enable the sunlight to penetrate a few layers into the panel. This light is reflected by the underside of the liquid crystal layer and with additional ‘back light’, the images are much clearer and brighter. The display also adjusts its brightness to cater for the surrounding light conditions, whether it be on a beach or in a brightly-lit room.
