Myths and Monsters
Sat 13 Feb – Sun 5 Sept 2010 Temporary Exhibition Gallery, admission charge
Mixing animatronic models, specimens and photography, this blockbuster show explores the world of the cyclops, unicorn, yeti, dragon, chimera and other mythical beasts. Myths and Monsters illuminates the historical facts behind, and possible scientific explanations for mythical creatures. The origin of the cyclops, the links between dragons and the dinosaurs, and why the yeti is the monster most likely to be real are amongst the compelling mysteries considered.
Tuareg: People of the Veil
Opens Sat 27 March 2010 Balcony Square, free admission
Tuareg: People of the Veil provides a fascinating insight into the culture of the Tuareg people of north west Africa, through the exploration of Tuareg clothing and jewellery. Ornate amulets, veils and slippers are set within their social and historical context to illuminate their significance to Tuareg culture.

Fabric of a Nation focuses on the role of printed cloths and their designs as an expression of cultural, social and political identity in modern Ghana, cutting across ethnic and language differences. These beautiful fabrics play an integral role in many aspects of daily life such as ceremonies, politics and religion.
