Rocks on the Rock
On December 17th 2R Art, a London based art consultancy, presents an evening of Rock ‘n’ Roll at Miss Q’s featuring an exhibition of rock related photography with live music performances from The Lipstick Melodies and Hey Negrita, all accompanied by American dining and Christmas cocktails.
Featured artists include:
Cambridge Jones – The award winning photographer Cambridge Jones was recently described as “The Brit's answer to Annie Leibovitz”. He has photographed four British Prime Ministers, The Queen, Al Pacino and everyone from Sir Anthony Hopkins to James Bond. Some of his recent work resides in The Queen's private Library at Windsor Castle. (www.cambridgejones.com)
Joe Bangay - probably the oldest working rock and roll photographer, still behind a camera. Originally a press photographer, his photographs capture the story of the moment: when Fonteyn and Nureyev touch, Robert Mitchum hoods his eyes, Mohammed Ali offers a warning punch, a young McEnroe drops the ball gently over the net and Status Quo put their heads and guitars down and go for it. Jules Heath - a relative newcomer to the business, but whose reputation is growing rapidly. Preferring a reportage approach, Jules aims to merge the highest quality expected of the fashion, art and advertising worlds with the good old fashioned snapshot. He has quickly built up a strong portfolio, having worked closely with companies such as Proud Galleries, The Secret Garden Party, Random Magazine, the BBC and Channel 4 to bring you some excellent cutting edge photography.
