Toshiba Electronics unveils new product packaging for memory cards and USB flash drives

More environmentally friendly paperboard packaging also improves storage and shipping efficiencies

Düsseldorf, Germany, 21 October 2009 - Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has unveiled new product packaging for its extensive portfolio of memory cards and USB Flash drives. Toshiba’s new packaging sees the company move from conventional plastic blister packs to a paperboard-based alternative that reduces plastic content by up to 60%.

As well as being more environmentally friendly, the new paperboard-based packages are also slimmer and lighter than the more traditional plastic blister packs. This, in turn, helps to deliver efficiency and cost savings in terms of storage and shipping.

As before, all of the packs are clearly labeled with key information including important specifications and relevant performance data. The memory card packaging also carries a graphic that helps customers choose the optimum card for specific requirements by clearly indicating the applications to which the product is best suited.

Toshiba’s portable memory storage product range includes SDHC™ cards, microSD™ cards and USB flash drives. SDHC™ cards are available in standard, high-speed and high-speed professional options with memory capacities to 32GB. MicroSD products offer standard and high-speed alternatives and capacities to 16GB. Toshiba’s TransMemory™ USB flash drives offer storage capacities to 32GB.

TransMemory™ is a trademark of Toshiba Corporation. All other trademarks and tradenames held within are properties of their respective holders.
