Olympus UK steps up E-System ownership incentives

With the Olympus E-1 having garnered an impressive range of ratings and awards from the majority of publications that have tested it, Olympus UK is now moving to remove the last hesitation that interested potential customers may still be harbouring. From today until the end of April, Olympus E-1 purchasers are being offered some very generous-looking deals.

You can choose between £200 cash back or your choice of one of the following:

FL-50 external flash system
ZUIKO Digital ED 50mm f2.0 macro lens
CAMEDIA P-440 photo printer
2GB 40X Lexar Pro series CompactFlash card

Each of the above fits in to the £350-£400 price range. Clearly, Olympus has focussed on value for money as the key incentive for this promotion. While reviewers have usually agreed the E-1 is an impressive piece of hardware, some have argued that the pricing needs to be more competitive, especially as the E-System is a new platform that requires a certain leap of faith from prospective buyers. That leap of faith is now being rewarded by Olympus.
