Tony is our featured photographer on today's DPNow Picture of the Day. Tony is based in Sweden and is also better known on DPNow as easty-uk.Tony's action shot of a bounding puppy is well composed and executed and the snowy scenery adds to the overall dynamics of the shot. The puppy's name is Tia and I reckon all four of Tia's paws are off the ground.
"The picture of Tia was taken on the 3rd November just after our first snow, down at a local lake 5 mins walk from home here in Kalix, Sweden," explains Tony. He adds: "This was Tia's first experience of snow and I don't really think she knew what to make of it. She did try to eat as much of the snow as she could though.
"I used the Canon 40D and Sigma 150mm 2.8 macro lens for the shot. I had Tia sit, and then I would call her to come."
A well-trained puppy, then - makes photography so much easier!
We try to discover a bit more about our featured photographers in the POTD. Tony says: "I'm an amateur photographer. I started back in 2003 when our son was born using a point and shoot camera (Konica KD-400z). I now use Canon; the 350D and the 40D."

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day. The gallery facility here is completely free; all you need to do is register as a user on our discussion forum and you will get an automatic 25MB of space, which is good for around 125 pictures uploaded at web resolution, about 200K per picture. At the time of writing we had just over10,000 pictures on the galleries and it's well worth a browse.
