Bruno is one of DPNow's newest members, and you will identify him via his
bruno.borges nickname on the forum and gallery. He has made an immediate impression with this self-portrait, which is a strong composition.
Bruno, 25 and from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, explains: " Thank you for the interest on my picture! Well, first about it, I took this picture while traveling through Europe in January this year. This one was at Valencia, Spain and the beach behind is actually the Mediterranean Sea. When I got to that beach and saw how the sand and the water at the horizon could form a great contrast I felt obligated to take the picture. So I settled my camera on the sand, set the timer and ran to be in the picture."
It's an attribute of a good photographer to be able to recognize when there is an opportunity for an interesting picture, and to capture it, just like Bruno has. So it's a surprise to hear what he has to say next:
"I'm not a photographer but I play with my Sony DSC-H9 sometimes. I really enjoy this hobby, as a distraction to my mind, when I'm not surfing or coding as a Software Engineer."
Well, Bruno, I definitely thing you are a photographer and I look forward to many more pictures from you.

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day.
