Philip James Filia, who goes by the user name of pjphoto on the DPNow discusssion forum and galleries, is a pro photographer based in San Diego, California. This is Philip's second POTD on DPNow. Last time we enjoyed a well-composed beach dune landscape, but today we have a rather amusing view of passengers waiting for a subway train in the Paris Metro. Besides being technically very good, with perfect exposure, white balance and alignment, I thought the people in the picture added up to a very interesting scene; each person telling their own amusing stories.
And that's exactly the way Philip sees it too: "The three on the left are engaged in an interesting conversation about Paris Hilton...the guy on the left, seated, is checking to see if his Botox is working yet... the girl is wondering why her boyfriend didn't call last night... the lady next to her is praying to God about her husband having cancer... the guy in the next seat is sucking his thumb and the girl in the last seat is like, "WTF?!?!?!?" ... the lady on the right is simply outta here..."

The picture was taken a little while ago, says Philip: "It was taken with my Canon 30D in Summer 2006 when I was visiting Paris with some friends."
