Lexmark unveils powerful 2003 inkjet line, delivering breakthrough ease-of-use and performance

VALENCIA, Spain April 29, 2003 – Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) today introduced the most comprehensive inkjet line in its history, featuring three new inkjet series to meet the growing range of consumer printing needs.

The new line delivers feature-rich, easy-to-use colour inkjet printers along with affordable, high quality photo printers and photo papers. Additionally, Lexmark introduced three newly designed All-In-One inkjets – the 1150, X6150, and X6170 – in a separate release today.

The introduction of this robust line of inkjets continues Lexmark’s legacy of print quality excellence with a maximum 4800 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution on photo paper available across the entire product line. In addition, Lexmark’s exclusive photo center software helps users effortlessly tap into sophisticated photo editing features to enhance and simplify the digital printing experience. Integrated driver software includes ‘red-eye’ reduction, color manipulation and photo sizing – all easily accessible and user friendly.

The Z605 Colour Jetprinter
Lexmark’s Z605 Color Jetprinter is a high-quality, all-around printer, with up to 4800 x 1200 dpi print resolution and fast prints speeds of up to 14 pages-per-minute (ppm) in black and up to 8 ppm in color. This affordable inkjet, ideal for quickly printing school reports, web pages and simple color graphics and images, makes printing easy and fun.

The Z705 Colour Jetprinter
Well suited for consumers seeking an all-purpose inkjet with superb photo printing capabilities, the Z705 has fast print speeds of up to 17 ppm in black and 10 ppm in colour. The Z705 also delivers photo quality output at up to 4800 x 1200 dpi, borderless printing in multiple sizes* and, when combined with an optional photo cartridge, the Z705 is capable of brilliant six-colour photo prints. Featuring PrecisionSenseTM technology, which automatically aligns your cartridges and automatically adjusts the print settings according to the type of paper being fed through the paper tray, the Z705 delivers great quality in an easy-to-use manner.

The P706 Photo Jetprinter
Introducing it’s all new “P series” photo printer lineup, Lexmark announces a high quality, easy-to-use, affordable photo printer, the P706 Photo Jetprinter. Shipping with both a colour and a photo cartridge, the P706 delivers brilliant six-colour printing at up to 4800 x 1200 dpi. Printing borderless images in multiple formats is both fast and easy on the Lexmark P706. Capable of printing a 10 X 15cm photo in normal mode in about 60 seconds, consumers won’t have to wait long for their high quality photo prints. Lexmark’s exclusive Photo Center Software allows users to easily edit photos (red eye reduction, crop, rotate, add text, etc.) as well as create scrapbook pages, develop an online photo album, and even create a “slide show” from their PC monitor. Combined with Lexmark’s photo paper, the P706 delivers an outstanding photo printing experience.

The P707 Photo Jetprinter
The Lexmark P707 was developed for digital photographers interested in creating home prints that rival photo lab quality. A sister product to the P706, the P707 delivers the same technology listed above, with the addition of on-board camera card readers to further simplify the digital photo printing experience. Accommodating six camera card types – CompactFlash I & II, Secure Digital, SmartMedia, Memory Stick and Multi-Media Card – the P707 supports virtually all leading digital cameras. Key photo features such as borderless printing*, six-colour inks, 4800 X 1200 dpi and photo card slots make this printer a “must-have” for the digital camera enthusiasts, or anyone wanting to print great-looking photos.

Lexmark Photo Paper
Developed to offer the photo printing enthusiast superb output, Lexmark today announces two new photo papers. Designed to bond chemically with Lexmark inks for eye-catching results, the new photo papers deliver sturdy, water-resistant, quick-drying images.

Lexmark’s “Everyday” glossy photo paper pack offers 20 sheets of durable, high-quality paper. Suitable for a wide range of printing projects, it is particularly well adapted to photo printing thanks to its thickness, semi-gloss finish and fast-coat drying.

Lexmark’s “Premium” glossy photo paper offers 15 sheets of heavyweight, high-gloss paper. The highest quality paper in Lexmark’s range of photo papers, the “Premium” paper delivers prints that look and feel like a real photograph. With it’s glossy finish and smudge-resistant, water-resistant coating, Lexmark‘s “Premium” glossy photo paper protects your valuable images from wear and tear.
