Camera Phones In Store For Jessops

Europe's leading photographic retailer, Jessops, has added mobile camera phones to its huge product range.

Jessops has joined forces with mobile communications company Vodafone UK to sell a range of mobile phones each with a built-in digital camera and connection to Vodafone live!, giving them access to a wide range of colour, information, entertainment, emails, downloadable games and ringtones.

The move further strengthens the company's reputation for providing a total digital imaging solution to customers, and - with industry experts predicting camera phone ownership will reach 55 million handsets worldwide in 2003, rising to 130 million in 2004 - will introduce Jessops to an even wider audience.

Jessops' Chief Executive Derek Hine commented: "Jessops is at the forefront of digital imaging and we have a proud history of innovation - including being the first to introduce digital camera demonstration areas in stores, and the first to offer in-store digital processing.

"By offering picture messaging mobile phones we're again demonstrating our commitment to embracing the latest imaging technology, and maintaining our market leading position in this exciting and fast moving field."

Jessops will offer a range of camera phones, including models from Sharp, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Sagem.

Richard Daly, Director of Sales (Consumer) at Vodafone, added: "Vodafone is extremely happy to be working with Jessops as their exclusive mobile phone network.

"We believe that working with Europe's leading photographic retailer will be a major benefit to both Vodafone and Jessops customers."
