Two new A3 scanners join Mustek’s competitive ScanExpress range
London, November 2007 – Mustek, expert in electro-optics and one of the leading manufacturers of scanning solutions for over 18 years, has just announced the launch of two new A3 CIS flatbed scanners in the UK. ScanExpress A3 USB 600 Pro and ScanExpress A3 USB 1200 continue a series of high performing, user-friendly A3 scanning solutions at affordable prices. The latest additions to the Mustek A3 scanner range not only incorporate all key features of their successful predecessor ScanExpress A3 USB Pro, but also feature several convenient upgrades.
With a large scanning area for documents up to 297 x 420 mm and 48-bit true colour mode (over 68.7 billion colors in a single pass), the flatbed scanners are ideal for users in reproduction houses and service bureaus; particularly if there is a need for scanning complete book spreads, two letter-sized pages (simultaneously), newspapers, large-format magazines, legal or tabloid-sized documents, photographs and aerial and satellite maps.
The user will enjoy increased optical resolutions of 600x1200 dpi for ScanExpress A3 USB 600 Pro and 1200x1200 dpi for ScanExpress A3 USB 1200 Pro. These true resolutions enable outstanding image clarity and enlargement. Scanned documents and pictures can immediately be modified and filed, copied or sent via fax or email. The need for quick and easy data transfer has also been addressed with an upgraded data interface moving from a USB1.1 to USB2.0 standard.
The scanners feature CIS (Contact Image Sensor) technology which provides perfect quality images that rarely need re-calibration while OCR (Optical Character Recognition) function and image editing software enables the user to convert image format into text and to enhance scanned images to ensure best possible results. Despite their large scanning surface, both units are compact, measuring 563x384x87 mm and their individual weight is 4.5kg.

Both models are available in the shops immediately. The recommended retail prices are £99.99 (ScanExpress A3 USB 600 Pro) and £119.99 (ScanExpress A3 USB 1200 Pro).
