CeWe reports Digital photo orders have now overtaken analogue
Release Issued by CeWe:

Digital pictures printing now outstrips analogue, says CeWe Color

5 September 2007, London – Digital photo orders have now overtaken analogue, with digital orders accounting for 75 percent of all photos printed, according to CeWe Color, Europe’s largest photo finisher.

Digital photography has changed the amount of pictures that now get developed. The instant viewing that digital cameras provide has allowed users to delete pictures they don’t like and print only the ones they want. The number of pictures developed has increased from 70 pictures per year with analogue to 90 pictures per order with digital.

The company has today launched version 3.2 of its digital photo software, My CeWe Photo World. This includes an increased product range, featuring an extra large photo book to accommodate the extra pictures we take, and a PictureLive DVD.

“With 33 different ways to use one photo this service sets the standard and shows how far the industry has come since the days of analogue photographs,” says CeWe Color’s Andrew White. “In the days of analogue cameras, the average number of orders was two and a half rolls of film a year per person. These days that amount is eclipsed by an average of 90 pictures per order.”

As part of the service upgrade CeWe is providing a PictureLive DVD that gives the user an animated presentation of their pictures with background music, which can be ordered online, from a kiosk or by post.

Photo Book users can arrange their photos, choose backgrounds, colours and text in just three clicks. Photo books come in faux leather, premium linen, hardback and soft cover and are a great way of keeping digital photographs or giving as a gift to friends and family.
