Discover the beautiful world of ballet through the digital photo exhibition English National Ballet A Unique
Insight, part of the reflect series at the Royal Albert Hall.
This digital exhibition by the photographer and artist Henry Reichhold provides a unique insight, adopting
various styles through his approach to art and photography and using different cameras, including mobile
phones. The resulting pictures capture the atmosphere of the moment, providing rich colours and a strong
visual narrative which replace the normal photographic detail.
Reichhold's distinct style explores the boundaries between painting and photography. For over a decade, his
close association with English National Ballet has resulted in a collection of images that range from intimate
portraits to huge panoramic collages. The exhibition looks at the dancers of English National Ballet from a
broad perspective including studio rehearsals, auditions and the whole series of events that lead up to the
final dress rehearsal.
The exhibition takes place around the ground floor corridor of the Royal Albert Hall from Tuesday 12 June to
Friday 6 July and can be viewed when attending performances or on one of the free open days listed above.
The project and exhibition are sponsored by Epson with kind support from English National Ballet and the
Royal Albert Hall.
