LONDON, UK – 27 October 2003 – Roxio, Inc. , The Digital Media Company® and provider of the best selling digital media software in the world, today announced the release of Easy CD & DVD Creator™ 6.2 Platinum. Roxio’s Easy CD & DVD Creator is the de facto worldwide standard in digital media software, evidenced by shipments of more than 100 million OEM units and 4 million retail units worldwide to date.

The latest release includes functionality that enables consumers to make personal back up copies of non-protected or unencrypted DVDs, compress dual-layer DVDs and burn them onto DVD recordable media, automatically search for valid DVD-Video content on a hard drive, work with VIDEO_TS folders, and back up DVDs to recordable DVD media. Additionally Easy CD & DVD Creator 6.2 includes portable device support for WMDM compliant devices, over-burn capabilities to support 90 and 99 minute media, power management for laptops, and multi-lingual CD Text support.

Since the software’s global launch last spring, Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 has been recognised the world over, earning more than 25 awards including the PC Pro 'Recommended' Award, April 2003 (UK), Nikkei BP’s ‘Best PC Software – Editor’s Choice’ Award, September 2003 (Japan), and two ‘World Class’ awards – ‘Best CD Mastering’ and ‘Best DVD Mastering’ from PC World Magazine, June 2003 (US).
