Looks great from every angle
Smartly designed and available in Light Silver, Dark Blue and Ruby Red, the µ [mju:] 760 radiates on individual style that grabs attention. While the compact dimensions and elegant contours of its weatherproof*, metal body make it a pleasure to have and hold, its high spec ensures excellent photo results. A precision 3x optical zoom (37-111mm on a 35mm camera, 1:3.4-5.7) gives photographers the flexibility they need to bring subjects in close and a resolution of 7.1 Megapixels gives plenty of detail-capturing power. In addition, Dual Image Stabilization takes a double-barrelled approach to fend off unwanted blur through a combination of a mechanical image stabilizer and high ISO values.
See and capture more in low light
BrightCapture Technology guarantees the capture of great atmospheric shots, even in situations where only little light is available. The µ [mju:] 760 features special scene modes that increase the ISO value to 1600 – significantly reducing the need for flash – while retaining full 7.1 Megapixel image quality. This technology is also applied in the Movie mode to considerably extend the opportunities for capturing the magic of movement at night. Furthermore, BrightCapture Technology makes it easier to frame shots on the large 6.4cm LCD screen with 230,000 pixels, as the image displayed is around four times brighter than on a standard LCD.
Simply elegant, elegantly simple
The µ [mju:] 760 matches its versatility and good looks with ease of use. This ergonomically-formed camera offers a choice of 23 scene modes that cover many common shooting situations including Candle, Sports and three Underwater modes. Users are therefore ready to take perfect shots with the minimum of fuss and effort. And featuring both internal memory plus an xD-Picture Card slot, the µ [mju:] 760 offers plenty of flexibility for the storage of images and movies.
And should the photographer fancy giving their camera a real soaking, an Underwater Case is optionally available. It lets the fun of photography continue under the water’s surface – down to 40m below, in fact!
A versatile and attractive addition to the µ [mju:] family, the metal-bodied µ [mju:] 760 is available in a choice of three colours. Appendix
BrightCapture Technology
A technology developed for better shooting results in low light situations. BrightCapture works in two ways: i) All available pixel information from the image sensor is used to provide a view on the LCD that’s up to four times brighter than conventional types, to make framing easy even in dark surroundings. ii) In certain shooting modes sensitivity is increased (resolution is sometimes reduced), which results in well-exposed images with accurate colour reproduction, high contrast and definition, even when not using the flash. Scene modes that benefit from BrightCapture Technology include Candle, Night Scene and Available Light.
Dual Image Stabilization
Providing two-fold protection, this special function helps to avoid image blur caused by camera shake or fast-moving subjects. It combines high ISO values with a CCD-based mechanical image stabiliser, where a built-in gyro sensor detects camera movement and adjusts the CCD accordingly.
Guide function
The general purpose and recommended use of the various camera modes and menu options are briefly explained directly on the LCD. This makes shooting easier and means users will rarely need to consult the manual – a real benefit for photographers when on the go, as well as those looking for a short theoretical briefing without having to carry or consult guidebooks.
