Release Issued by DEVONtechnologies:
Universal Binaries:Photostickies, Easyfind, Thumbs Up, And Xmenu
Coeur d'Alene (Idaho, USA), 12th of May, 2006 – DEVONtechnologies, LLC updates its photo and Web cam viewer PhotoStickies as well as its freeware utilities EasyFind, ThumbsUp and XMenu, and makes them universal binaries.
Most importantly, all four applications run natively now on both Intel and PowerPC equipped Macs at full speed.
In addition, PhotoStickies 5.5 features a preferences option to suppress Dock icon notifications, always displays the modification date of Web cam pictures in the information panel, and displays or records only fully and correctly loaded images. The size of the Web cam history can grow unlimitedly, PhotoStickies 5.5 uses the system-wide proxy settings, does not download more than 16 Web cams simultaneously, and names folders for recorded Web cams more accurately. The built-in HTML parser has been enhanced, too, and the recognition of Web cams contained in Web pages is more reliable.
EasyFind 3.9 brings a lot of detail enhancements, such as a more versatile Services menu command that now supports more input types. This makes it more useful when activated from within the Finder. EasyFind 3.9 also enhances searching for file and folder names containing, e.g., umlauts, accents or diacretical characters, and allows the user to select and search invisible folders. More file types can be searched, and searching for wildcards is faster.
Besides making the free image resizer and thumbnail generator ThumbsUp a universal binary, the new version 4.3 adds the possibility to create thumbnails of QuickTime files that require a third-party component, and is localized in French. Finally, the menu bar launcher XMenu 1.8 comes with an updated French localization.
All four releases also fix minor bugs and glitches, and bring overall performance enhancements.
PhotoStickies 5.5, EasyFind 3.9, ThumbsUp 4.3, and XMenu 1.8 require Mac OS X 10.3.9 or Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger". They are immediately available as a free download from www.devon-technologies.com and can be used free of charge.
