Ten megapixel Pentax DSLR shown at PMA
by Ian Burley

Pentax teased PMA-goers with a static display of its planned 10MP DSLR, alongside a new AF540GZ flash and smc Pentax DA 21mm f/3.2 AL Limited lens

An unnamed Pentax 10MP DSLR should be with us by the autumn. A mock-up is on display at PMA this week, though only in a glass box on the Pentax booth. Here are a few shots from a brief session with the lid off for the press:

Pentax with no name
It doesn't even have a name, but it looks very similar to a standard *ist D, though some controls have been relocated.
Press Frenzy
There was a lot of press frenzy for a few minutes after the lid of the display was removed to enable us to take better shots.

relocated controls and flash

Note the relocated controls and the AF-540FGZ flash along side.

spot the difference

Spot the difference between the new mystery Pentax and an ordinary *istD…?

Back view

And to round off, a closer view of the back of the mystery Pentax.
