FotoJive -Consumers can now share all their video clips quickly and easily!

Release Issued by Fotojive:

Video clip sharing service for digital camera owners

A video clip sharing service for digital camera users launches today, FotoJive (www.fotojive.com
), which allows users to upload video clips to an online account easily and quickly. Video clips can then be shared with friends and family without the need for any special software.

Neil Fenton, CEO of the company behind FotoJive, comments: "Digital cameras with great video capabilities are rarely used because it is difficult to share the clips with family and friends after they have been taken. This has now changed with FotoJive." Users can upload their clips to an online FotoJive account where they can be organized into folders and most importantly shared with friends and family quickly and easily. Video memories are securely backed-up online.

FotoJive users simply select the clips they wish to share and then send an email invite to their friends to come and view the video clip. Friends simply click on a link in the invitation email and view the video clip in their internet browser. This approach has a number of advantages:
. No large video files need to be emailed, avoiding clogged inboxes.
. There is no need for a compatible video player on a user's PC.
. The video clip is streamed to the Internet browser so that is all the software the guest needs.
. Video clips can be shared with a number of friends at the same time.

"Unlike any other service currently available, digital camera owners can now share more than just photos. This takes the multi-media sharing experience available to consumers to the next level," comments Fenton, "The FotoJive technology allows us to take video clips in a number of different file formats, transcode them in an instant, and then stream them to the user's account where they can be viewed and shared on demand."

Until FotoJive, sharing video clips was made difficult by the variety of video file formats adopted by digital camera manufacturers. This meant that using the clip outside of the camera was very difficult. FotoJive overcomes this problem by employing an advanced video transcoding application to produce video streams that can be displayed in a normal web-browser.

Once in the FotoJive gallery, any picture or video clip is stored safely and securely in a free, 100 MB online storage facility where they can be accessed from any Internet-connected computer. The service can be used with a variety of brand name digital cameras such as Sony, Canon, Panasonic Nikon, Pentax, Ricoh, and Olympus. The service also supports camera phone video.
