HP Advanced Paper set for July launch in Europe

Release Issued by HP:

New, revolutionary paper with “Colour Lock” technology

Continuing with its strategy of offering total solutions to customers, HP has developed a revolutionary new paper, HP Advanced Paper, aimed at transforming the inkjet market.

Scheduled for release in the European market in July 2005, the new paper has been developed using HP’s intimate knowledge of inkjet technology and its interaction with paper. The result is a paper that has been developed to address common issues with inkjet printing to enable vibrant, high quality and durable images to be printed with inkjet printers and other devices.

Developed in association with International Paper, HP Advanced Paper is an uncoated paper that uses proprietary chemical processes to create “Colour Lock” technology that delivers rich colours, deeper blacks, faster drying and water resistance. These benefits combine to lift the quality of inkjet printing to new standards.

Darker, richer colours mean that documents have a higher definition and contrast than ever before, with crisp text and bright colours. Faster drying prevents smearing when handling recently printed documents and superior water resistance means inkjet printed documents are no longer vulnerable to streaking caused by spillages or excess moisture.

HP Advanced Paper is a versatile paper, performing well in laser printers, copiers and fax machines with the additional benefits for inkjet printers. The paper is currently available in 80g/m2 in A4 sheets.

HP Advanced Paper is a major breakthrough in papermaking for the digital office, offering the new colour-locking technology, less smearing, no streaking from contact with water and improved print quality with deeper blacks and more vivid colours.
