Extensis Releases Pro Photo Raw Image Filter for Portfolio 6

Released by Extensis:

Free filter powered by Bibble Labs enables professional photographers to
manage Raw image files from leading digital SLR cameras.

Northampton, UK July 31, 2003 Extensis today announced the immediate availability of the Pro Photo Raw Image Filter for Portfolio 6. The new filter a free upgrade for registered owners of the company's award-winning digital Asset Management (DAM) solution allows photographers to preview, sort, and archive camera-native images without having to first convert them
into another format.

With the Pro Photo Raw Image Filter, Portfolio can generate high-quality
thumbnails and previews from the unprocessed raw image files created by
higher-end digital cameras from Nikon, Olympus, Kodak, Canon and Fuji.
Portfolio can also extract EXIF metadata from the raw files and generate
slideshows of the images.

Adding support for these raw formats makes Portfolio an ideal tool for
professional photographers, said Joseph Schorr, senior product manager,
Extensis. Photographers can now go directly from camera to Portfolio, where
they can preview, keyword, organize and sort thousands of images without
getting bogged down in a lengthy conversion process.

Many pro-level photographers produce digital photos in raw format because
this format preserves 100 percent of the color and tonal range data captured
by the camera¹s light- sensitive computer chip in an uncompressed, lossless
form. Raw files can serve as digital negatives or master images that can
later be converted into more standard formats (such as TIFF or JPEG) with a
variety of tools that give the photographer control over how the original
data is ultimately rendered.

The Pro Photo Raw Image filter for Portfolio is powered by technology from
Bibble Labs, one of the leading developers of raw image processing software.
³Combining the power of Bibble Labs raw image processing technology with
the photo-management tools already in Portfolio is a powerful combination,
said Eric Hyman CEO of Bibble Labs. This is something that pro
photographers really need and we¹re pleased to help Extensis build a premier
tool for the pro photo market.

Registered owners of Portfolio 6 are eligible to receive the Pro Photo Raw
Image filter by updating their current version of Portfolio to version 6.1.2
for Mac OS X and 6.0.3 for Windows through the Extensis website at
