Adobe quietly warns that a patch is required to fix potential security threat in Photoshop
Almost a week ago, Adobe posted an advisory on its support knowledgebase warning of a security risk in Windows versions of Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Creative Suite 1.0 and Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, though no press announcement, as far as we know, was made.
It seems that there is a software flaw in these titles' product activation modules that could be maliciously exploited to gain unauthorised access to your computer. Adobe says it has simply spotted the flaw and is not aware of any case where the flaw has been exploited. A software patch has already been made available.
If you use a Windows version of Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Creative Suite 1.0 or Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, you can find more information on the related support knowledgebase advisory and download the necessary software patch.
