by Julia Burley

Win one of the best-selling compact digital cameras in Japan, the Panasonic Lumix FX7, with dpnow

March's competition is now closed
Hearty congratulations go to the lucky winner, Dave Shaw, drawn from entries to March's prize draw

panasonic2.jpgThis month we have a marvellous prize to tempt you with; a Panasonic Lumix FX7 camera, featuring a Leica-designed lens and Mega Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) to counteract camera shake blur in dark conditions when shooting with slow shutter speeds. The FX7 has been the number one seller in Japan. Its manufacturer's guide price is £349.99 here in the UK.

With the FX7 Panasonic has combined understated traditional elegance with cutting–edge Leica optics and the latest in digital electronics

Behind the Leica DC Vario Elmarit 3x zoom lens is a five megapixel image sensor. Panasonic's Venus Engine II image processing technology has improved horizontal and vertical resolution by more than 10 percent compared to their previous Venus Engine and reduced the noise in dark areas and achieved more precise colour reproduction with an advanced 12-axis independent colour adjustment. In addition, a burst shooting mode lets you to capture up to seven full-size images in standard mode three frames per second. Users have the option of two levels of optical image stabilisation, which uses gyro-sensors inside the camera to sense movement and dynamically adjust the lens optics to minimise blur caused by camera shake when shutter speed is slow.

The FX7 has the biggest LCD monitor screen in its class

Construction of the FX7's body is all metal and at the back of the FX7 you will discover a massive 2.5 inch polycrystalline TFT LCD screen. A convenient thumb-wheel lets you select shooting modes, including a wide range of scene-specific exposure modes. A 16MB SD card is supplied and the camera's battery is a super-compact lithium ion rechargeable unit.

The Panasonic Lumix FX7 is and extraordinary camera and a lucky dpnow visitor will become the proud owner of one by the end of March.

If that's not enough why not have a look at the PhotographyBLOG newsletter page, where this month there is a chance of winning 1000 A5 Colour Postcards, 1000 A6 Colour Postcards and "Adobe Photoshop CS One-on-One" by Deke McCelland, all worth £600.
