Colour Confidence Supports RAF Photography Competition

Birmingham, UK, October 07, 2004 - Colour Confidence, the colour management division of TypeMaker, has announced its support of the annual RAF Photographic Competition by sponsoring one of the categories. The move reflects the growing interest in colour management solutions following the introduction of digital photography throughout the armed service. Colour Confidence's expertise in colour management made it a natural candidate to sponsor the technical photography category.
The RAF Photographers Photographic Competition is an annual event which is open to all professional photographers within the Service including the MoD and contractor-employed photographers. Inaugurated in 1989 by the then Air Officer Engineering & Supply, Air Vice Marshall R J M Alcock, the competition aims to encourage the highest standards of technical and general-purpose photography throughout the Service.
The judging for the competition took place at RAF Museum Cosford on 17 September 2004 with the winners due to receive their prizes on 19 October 2004. The winner of the single technical photography category will receive GBP250 from Colour Confidence.
"The RAF has become a regular user of colour management products since the introduction of digital photography into the Service and this competition is an ideal opportunity to show how colour management solutions can be utilised to produce technically sound photography. The rules of the competition stipulate that all entries must be straight prints without any manipulation and enhancement. As such, digital camera users have looked to Colour Confidence's comprehensive colour management offerings to ensure the print they submit matches the image that they captured," said Geoffrey Clements, Managing Director, Colour Confidence.
"The Photographic Competition is an opportunity for all entrants to demonstrate their technical and professional skills in what is a highly competitive competition.
