Panasonic’s latest LUMIX camera offers superb picture quality with unparalled features

Panasonic’s new DMC-FZ20 digital still camera leads the way for the serious photographer. Hot on the heels of its renowned predecessor, the DMC-FZ10, the latest model takes picture quality and innovative features to a new high. With its high end specification, Panasonic’s collaboration with Leica represents remarkable value for money.
The 5.0 megapixel LUMIX DMC-FZ20 incorporates a highly impressive 12x optical zoom with F2.8 brightness and manual controls including ring-operated focus and exposure. The manual exposure capability gives ultimate control of exposure to capture images according to the user preferences such as intentional over or underexposure just like using a film camera. The FZ20 has a compact body, but remarkably, its zoom lens has a focal distance of 6.0mm to 72.0mm – that’s the same as 36mm to 432mm in an equivalent 35mm camera!
A sophisticated zoom facility is one thing, but what happens if you’re on the move, want to take a picture, but your hand is jittering and shaking? Panasonic have the answer, with their industry leading Mega Optical Image Stabiliser (OIS). Originally developed for Panasonic video cameras, the OIS technology has been integrated with the DMC-FZ20. The Mega OIS helps help eradicate the effect of shaking hands on an otherwise perfect take, and eliminates the blurring caused by unintentional movement at the time of capture. The result is clear sharp images, exactly as you wanted.
The DMC-FZ20 also boasts the enhanced Panasonic Venus Engine high speed image processing system, which delivers superb image rendering and unmatched processing speed. The Venus Engine II has improved horizontal and vertical resolution by more than 10 percent, reduced the noise in dark areas and achieved more precise color reproduction with an advanced 12-axis independent color adjustment. In addition, the Burst Shooting Mode allows you to capture up to seven full-size images (standard mode) at a lightening quick three frames per second. Particularly helpful when photographing a moving object, the Burst Shooting Mode allows the user to take a series of shots and select the best from these to keep.
Featuring built-in USB ports and SD memory card slots, the FZ20 offers connectivity with a variety of SD-enabled devices including PCs, TVs, DVD recorders, etc. Images can be taken on your digital camera and downloaded to a PC via the USB port. You can then email your images as attachments or transfer them onto disc - perfect for sharing!
