Birmingham, UK, September 22, 2004 - Colour Confidence, the colour management division of TypeMaker, is once again setting the standard for professional monitor calibration with the news that they will be among the first distributors to offer ColorVision Spyder2 and Spyder2PRO. Colour Confidence's continued distribution of ColorVision products underlines its position as a key supplier of colour management products throughout Europe. Colour Confidence will be supplying Spyder2 across Europe through its online webstore www.colourconfidence.com and via its growing network of resellers. The new product will be launched at the Photokina exhibition in Cologne.

Spyder2 comes with a new hardware design and many extended functions. Thanks to new optimised hardware, Spyder2 is easier to attach to CRT and LCD monitors, while new photo sensors allow Spyder2 five times more sensitivity during calibration than was previously possible. Colour uniformity can be achieved on different monitors due to the improved filter systems, and the new patented light baffle facilitates a more precise LCD characterisation.
Spyder2 has introduced a number of software innovations; a wizard function guides the user step-by-step through the calibration process, with each step deploying intelligent routines that ensure optimal calibration for each type of monitor. Combined with the new Spyder2 software, the updated algorithms offer unprecedented precision in grey balancing, which ensures consistent and neutral grey values as well as exceptionally smooth tonal response. In order to simplify the calibration process further, the entire manual is included within the software through the Help icon. This explains each step in the process and the effects they will have on the selected settings.
System requirements, availability and prices
Spyder2 can be used on CRT and LCD monitors using both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. They support Mac OS X 10.2 or better, as well as Windows(r) 2000 and XP, Adobe Photoshop 5.5 or better on Windows, Photoshop 7 or better on Mac, or Photoshop Elements. A USB connection is required for the hardware. ColorVision is available in the following languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese.
Spyder2 will be available at a price of £129.95 (189 Euros) ex-VAT.
Spyder2PRO Studio will be available at a price of £199.95 (299 Euros) ex-VAT. This Studio version of the Spyder2 includes copies of Colorvision DoctorPRO, Pantone Colorist and nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 Standard Edition - all applications to enhance, edit, correct and specify colours on your screen and in your images.
