New Platinum Edition for WACOM’s Intuos2 professional range

Released by WACOM Europe:

New Platinum Edition for WACOM’s Intuos2 professional range

WACOM Europe GmbH today unveils a new look for its Intuos2 graphics tablet system - the Platinum Edition. Available at the end of June, the stylish new edition comes in a sleek platinum design and is available in sizes A5 and A4 regular. Complete with USB port, the Intuos2 Platinum A5 will be available at £255.99 and the A4 regular at £389.99 (both prices are excluding VAT).

With exactly the same technical specifications as the award-winning Intuos2 graphics tablet system, the Platinum Edition is ideal for digital photography, video editing and 2D/3D design as well as other creative mediums. It is aimed at those style-conscious digital design professionals that want an aesthetic working environment. The new Platinum Edition complements the modern design of Apple’s Titanium PowerBook and many PCs on the market today.

The input devices supplied with the Intuos2 Platinum Edition such as the Grip Pen and 2D Mouse for the A5, and the Grip Pen and 4D Mouse for the A4 regular, also come in platinum to match the contemporary look of the tablet. All existing input devices are also compatible with the Intuos2 Platinum Edition.

Bundled Software
The Intuos2 Platinum Edition is bundled with the painting and drawing programme from Corel – procreate Painter Classic. The software includes a wide range of pressure-sensitive paint tools that enable the pressure-sensitive Intuos2 Grip Pen to create natural-looking brush strokes. WACOM’s Tool ID is supported and allows the input devices and any customised preferences to be recognised by the tablet when the pen approaches it.

The Platinum Edition package contains nik multimedia’s penPalette – a set of eight fully functional photographic filters that can be applied to selected parts on a photo with varied pressures of the pen, and some extra demo filters. Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements users can enhance their images more precisely by applying the effect and correction filters selectively with the pressure sensitive pen.

This package also offers customers a reduced price of £149 excl. VAT to upgrade from procreate Painter Classic to the recently launched Corel Painter 8.0 and Corel Knock-out 2.0 image editing software.

System Requirements
Windows 98/ME/2000, Windows XP, Macintosh 8.51 and later, and Macintosh OS 10.1.5 and later.

WACOM offers a two-year guarantee for the Intuos2 Platinum Edition graphics tablet systems and input devices.
