Put an Image in your Tank | ||||
By Ian Burley | ||||
An ImageTank is a compact battery powered portable hard drive complete with a pair of memory card slots accommodating both Compact Flash and SmartMedia users. In theory, if you currently use a laptop, you could leave it at home and use a less bulky ImageTank instead. All you do is insert your card, press a button and a copy of the entire contents of the card is made. It doesn’t delete the originals - leaving that choice up to you. Later, you connect the ImageTank to your PC via USB connection and it becomes an external drive to that computer. You can copy or rename files on ImageTank as you see fit. 10GB and 20GB ImageTank models are available. The ImageTank has been tested with SmartMedia cards up to 128Mb and is Type II CF memory card compatible as well as IMB Microdrive compatible. A Lithium ion rechargeable battery is included, as are a mains adapter and a cigarette lighter adapter. Prices are: 10GB model - £399 inc.VAT, 10GB model - £499 inc.VAT.
