We have some news about this site, Digital Photography Now (DPN). Some modifications have been made to the DPN discussion forum (click here) to make it more fun, convenient and easier to use. We have a great new prize for our free monthly draw competition and there is more information on our new readers' photos section.

Discussion forum improvements

If you haven't yet had a look at the discussion forum, you're missing out on a powerful information resource. Many problems and other queries have been answered by other DPN readers in the forum in the two months since it was originally set up.

Now it's easier to use, with improved email notification of responses to your messages if you desire, the availability of friendly 'emoticon' icons to make posting more fun and improved flagging of messages that include links to photos. The DPN forum can be reached by clicking here.

Olympus C-700UZ up for grabs

It's the beginning of the month and time to unveil our latest prize draw. By registering (or updating your existing details) you have the chance of winning an Olympus C-700 UZ (ultra zoom). Olympus has made some of the best 2 megapixel digital cameras and this one, currently selling for £399, has an excellent 10x Multivariator optical zoom lens and an electronic viewfinder.

Readers Photos section

As revealed a few days ago, we’re starting a special section on the site to show off the best of our readers’ photos. A submission page is now up (click here) and this also details the terms and conditions concerning any submissions. We’ve already had a good response and we’d like to get some of these online as soon as possible.

Submitted photos will be evaluated and a small prize awarded to a favourite. We’re looking at reader ranking of photos too.

Olympus users please note

If you’re submitting photos taken using an Olympus camera, your pictures will also be forwarded to a planned Olympus UK gallery of pictures, which is also likely to feature a prize for a best photo or photos. We’ll bring you more information about this as we get it.
