..but there is still time to enter:
If you have some great animal pictures, there is still time to enter the annual RSPCA Awards for Young Photographers, sponsored by Olympus Cameras and Truprint. The closing date is 16th September, just over three weeks from today. The rules appear to be quite flexible - entries must centre on an animal subject and both wild or domestic animals are eligible. One of the judges is Chris Packham, the celebrated wildlife photographer and TV presenter. Entries are divided into two different age groups: under 12s and 12 to 18s. The overall winner will receive a state of the art Olympus digital camera and £250 cash prize, to be presented at an awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in December. Olympus is donating cameras as prizes, while Truprint is donating 70p per film developed when sent in using a special RSPCA envelope. To get an envelope, call Truprint on 01626 322 011.
