North London Darkroom, who offer an affordable space for photographers through a membership basis, have just raised over £4,000 with Crowdfunder.co.uk.

The £4,000 raised with Crowdfunder.co.uk will be used to launch a new programme of annual exhibitions as well as a photo-zine.
Sebastian Edge, founder, said: "Printing is the final stage of making or taking a photograph, it is an aesthetic choice as much as it was when I pointed my camera. It's part of the process, but not the end."
The amount raised through Crowdfunder.co.uk will be used to fund the North London Darkroom's first exhibition as well as to print and launch the first issue of its photo-zine. This will showcase the work of the NLD members and their experimentation with, and mastery of, a variety of photographic printing techniques.
Since opening in 2012, the North London Darkroom has developed its activities around the love for photography and the passion for the 'making' of it. With the intention of promoting research through traditional as well as innovative tools and materials, the North London Darkroom is a place for experimentation and execution of both small and wide-ranging projects. It is a meeting place for professionals of the photographic world, in which they can share experience and expertise.
The goal is to bring the audience closer to the practice and crafsmanship of photographic printing, giving space to the visual and tactile dimension of the image that usually emerges only through the collaboration between photographer and printer.

The North London Darkroom show will be taking place from the 5th to the 12th of December 2013 at the Rag Factory, in the heart of London East End. With a plan of events to come, for each night of the week.
