Our challenge photo has potential, but can you realise it?

Once again, here is a photo that has potential, but it needs some skill and application to make it really shine. Can you do it, and maybe even win a prize? If you are interested in Formula1 Grand Prix motor racing, this is a picture of the BMW Sauber of Polish ace, Robert Kubica, taken during practice for the 2008 British Grand Prix, at Silverstone.

Capturing cars passing you at around 200 miles per hour is not easy at the best of time. Getting the focus right is difficult as well. The lighting is something that can be hit or miss at a British Grand Prix and on this particular day the sun was in and out of the clouds constantly. I wasn't anle to get as close to the action as I'd have liked, but I think there is potential with this picture given some skilful post processing and cropping. And of course there is the option of making an artistic interpretation of the image with some special effects.

Can this picture be knocked into shape? It's up to you...

Submit your entry

Once you have completed your work on the image, send a JPEG version to us attached to an email via [email protected] Please ensure that the JPEG file size does not exceed 5MB. The best entries will be judged in printed form.

We will then judge the best entries and present them to DPNow visitors and invite them to vote for their favourites. The top entrant will win a book from the DPNow library.

Finally, the deadline for entries is midnight UK time on Monday, 3rd January, 2011.
