Athentech announces Perfectly Clear

Athentech, The World’s Leading Independent Developer Of Automatic Photo Correction, Is Expanding And Growing

Reaching New Customers With New Products and Expanded Organization

Calgary, Alberta Canada (16 September, 2010) –– To distinguish its new premium consumer upload and photo book service, Olympus Memory Works Corporation has chosen Perfectly Clear®, the powerful automatic image correction from Athentech Imaging, to automatically ensure that its customers create superb looking products from every image. This decision affirms the increasing acceptance by major international companies of the unsurpassed quality of Perfectly Clear to produce “Real Color” pictures that are accurately beautiful.

In addition, two Chinese manufacturers who have recently incorporated Perfectly Clear® to automatically correct images being processed through their minilabs are Uni-Color and Prismlab, the latter being the pioneering developer of duplex (double-sided) silver halide minilabs that simplify the production of photo books.

As the number of licensees has increased, the company is expanding to maintain its highly regarded customer support program. Rafael Soltero, with more than fifteen years of experience in international business development working for Kodak, KIS and Noritsu, has been hired as VP Sales and Marketing. “As a small company working with customers worldwide, we needed a creative self-starter familiar with the demanding requirements of the photo-imaging industry to help drive our growth,” commented Brad Malcolm, President of Athentech Imaging. “International recognition of Perfectly Clear® and its capabilities has stimulated an unprecedented interest in the various applications, and I’m delighted to add Rafael Soltero to the team.”

At Photokina in Cologne, Germany, Athentech Imaging will be demonstrating the new Perfectly Clear® LAB 3.5 hot-folder software that automatically corrects both individual JPEG and embedded PDF images in mere seconds. This application can be integrated into digital workflows, functioning equally well for silver halide printers, inkjet printers, dye sublimation printers or digital presses. The latest version contains a special preset for Indigo and iGen digital presses, support for .png files, and integration with Digilab gift creation software for a more robust correction of .pdf files.

“The flexibility and simplicity to implement color correction algorithms that deliver the consistency, quality and speed of Perfectly Clear is unprecedented in the photography industry,” said Soltero, “The opportunity for consumers to create great memories everytime and everywhere with a single click has now become a reality.”

In addition, the latest Perfectly Clear library for licensing contains “Smarter Sharpening” to ensure consistent and accurate sharpening across all image sizes. The small Perfectly Clear library is being used in kiosks, minilabs, central labs (including professional labs), websites, gifting software, and iPhone applications. More details on the various corrections applied by Perfectly Clear can be found at: www.athentech.com/12-corrections.html

“To grow photo printing around the world, equipment manufacturers as well as image processors need to correct images to their highest quality to win consumer and professional business,” commented Soltero. “Even in low labor cost countries, the use of Perfectly Clear® to consistently and repeatedly dazzle customers with outstanding pictures is returning the initial investment many times over.”

Athentech Imaging will also be demonstrating its award-winning apps for the Apple iPhone, iPod and Photoshop Plug-in. “Come and visit us at Hall 4.1, Booth C-10 so that we can show you how to improve customer satisfaction and lower your operating costs with Perfectly Clear,” concluded Soltero. “We will find an option that fits your needs”
