RHS announces 2010 Photographic Competition

Snap away all spring and summer to win £1,000

RHS Photographic Competition returns for 2010

The UK’s leading gardening charity, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), is calling for entries into its annual photographic competition which launches today (1st April 2010) to celebrate the best in gardens and garden imagery.

Open to amateur and professional photographers alike, the competition has six* categories available for adults to enter, providing them with the chance of being crowned RHS Photographer of the Year and claiming the top prize of £1,000. Children and young photographers can compete for the title of RHS Young Photographer of the Year by entering one of two categories based on their age.

James Arnold, Licensing Manager for the RHS, said, “Each year the competition attracts thousands of entries, reaffirming our belief that Britain is a nation of gardeners. The quality is outstanding and it’s fabulous to see so many children now getting outdoors and experiencing nature through the lens of a camera.”

The RHS Photographic Competition is supported by Medici Cards, offering all entrants one further title and prize up for grabs – The Medici Cards Award. This prize is awarded to the photographer who best has an eye for commercial photography and is delivered in the form of the winning image being made into a greetings card.
