In the spotlight: SANYO presents three new digital cameras

Up to 14 megapixels and handy format ensure unlimited photo enjoyment

Munich/Germany, 23 February 2010 ---- The three new digital cameras X1420, X1220 and S122 from SANYO stand out with their classically elegant design and functionality. Boasting a resolution of 14 and 12 megapixels respectively, the cameras take detail-rich pictures as well as being very easy to use. Thanks to the handy design, they can be taken along just about anywhere without any problems, and are instantly ready to use in order to capture those spontaneous and most precious moments.

X1420 – highly promising newcomer
The X1420 with a gleaming aluminium body is the highlight of the new digital cameras from SANYO. The 14 megapixel resolution guarantees brilliant photos and every last detail is perfectly captured thanks to the 4x optical zoom and the large 3 inch LCD monitor. Featuring a 28 mm wide-angle lens, the X1420 is also adept when it comes to capturing large subjects. Impressive landscape shots are possible thanks to the panorama mode. The X1420 also features the Best Shot Function and photographs the subject four times using different settings, from which users can select their favourites. However, this camera not only excels when shooting photos: it also records videos in high definition with 720p (1.280 x 720 pixels, 30 fps).

Co-stars X1220 and S122
The high-spec digital cameras X1220 and S122 with 12 megapixel resolution and 3x optical zoom are also utterly convincing. These two compact cameras from SANYO capture moving images as video clips with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The 2.7 inch LCD display also ensures that users maintain a perfect overview of their subjects. Sporting a classic aluminium finish, the X1220 is an elegant companion for every occasion. The S122 stands for ergonomic design and, thanks to its curved body, sits perfectly in the user’s hand even when shooting in fast-moving situations.

Capturing those precious memories as easy as ABC
Weighing less than 100 grams, the three new digital cameras from SANYO are true flyweights. Due to their high light sensitivity of ISO 6400, all three models take razor-sharp photos even in unfavourable lighting conditions, whilst the digital image stabiliser helps prevent shaky recording. Less experienced photo enthusiasts benefit from additional functions such as Smile and Face Detection, which focus automatically on smiling faces. Numerous shooting modes with preset exposure parameters go to ensure perfect photos in a wide range of conditions. The Red Eye Correction facility (without the inconvenience of a dual flash) provides a user-friendly function for removing red eyes directly on the camera.

Unlimited film and photo enjoyment
All three models save their data on an SD or SDHC card. The X1420 also supports SDXC card format. The high-capacity lithium-ion batteries inside the X1220 and X1420 supply enough power for taking up 170 and 210 pictures respectively. Being powered by alkaline batteries, the S122 can be tanked up at any kiosk, meaning that it is quickly back in action ready for the next photo session. All cameras can be easily connected to a computer via USB cable for the purpose of transferring data.

Pricing, availability and warranty
The manufacturer’s recommended retail price (incl. VAT.) is € 149 for the X1420, € 129 for the X1220 and € 99 for the S122. The digital cameras will be available in spring in the following colours:
