FSoft updates Resize Magic plug-in
by Ian Burley

Resize Magic revised to work with Photoshop actions

Last May we brought news of an interesting Photoshop plug-in from the Italian software company, FSoft. Called Resize Magic, it offers an alternative to the standard bicubic or nearest neighbour algorithms for re-sizing images. The latest version (1.1) just released adds a much-welcomed modification to make it compatible with Photoshop Actions, making Resize Magic much easier to use with batch processing.

Here at dpnow we are interested in Resize Magic because it’s particularly suitable for scaling down the sizes of images, something we do a lot on the site to make photos fit into Web pages. Resize Magic uses a modified Lanczos algorithm.

Resize Magic will also work with many other applications besides Photoshop that offer Photoshop plug-in compatibility. A list of tested applications can be found on the FSoft Web site. Resize Magic is also very reasonably priced at €24 or $30.55, which is about £16.
