Magnum Photos and Tanqueray gin photography competition winner announced
Expert panel of judges reveal the winner and finalists in nationwide photographic competition
The winner in a national photographic competition run by the makers of Tanqueray gin and Magnum Photos has been announced. Daniel Clinch with his image ‘Treading a Fresh Path’ beat more than 2,000 photographers from the UK who entered the competition.
Daniel Clinch scooped £5,000 and, along with nine runners-up, will have their work showcased alongside that of Stuart Franklin, the president of Magnum and some of the world’s greatest photographers in ‘A Taste for Life’, a unique photographic exhibition which will run from 18th - 23rd May at Liberty London
Entrants were challenged to capture rich, intense moments in life for their interpretation of a ‘Taste for Life’. To help guide entrants there were five categories to enter covering adventure, relationships, cocktails & glamour, achievements and festivals & celebrations.
All entrants were judged by a panel of experts including Stuart Franklin, President of Magnum Photos, Jeremy Langmead, Editor of Esquire magazine, Alan Sparrow, Picture Editor of Metro, Nicky Catley, Picture Editor of The Daily Telegraph and Kristof Fahey, Vice President of Marketing for Yahoo! Europe.
The exhibition, ‘ATaste for Life’, will feature images from renowned Magnum photographers which celebrate rich intense moments in life to reflect the intense taste of Tanqueray. Some of the images have never been displayed and include photos from Magnum Photos President, Stuart Franklin, who was asked by the makers of Tanqueray gin to capture his own “A Taste for Life” images.
Along with Stuart Franklin’s images the exhibition will feature photography from other renowned Magnum photographers including Eve Arnold and Peter Marlow.
