Release Issued by Datacolor:
Datacolor presents colour management at the top imaging show in the stylish atmosphere of the Fifties
Hall 4.1, Stand D11/E19, Photokina, 23rd-28th September 2008 – Welcome to the world of colour. Datacolor, the leading provider of colour management technology, presents its innovative and affordable calibration solutions for monitors, TV screens and printers at this year’s Photokina in Hall 4.1 on Stand D11/E19. These solutions are specifically aimed at photographers, web designers, artists and graphic designers. There’s a rich seam to be mined here, whether you're a keen amateur or a fully fledged professional. The moment they arrive on the stand, visitors can see what the company means by target group precision. Following the motto “the right product for each individual”, rather than “one for all”, there are three different information desks awaiting visits from amateurs, semi-professionals and professionals.
Apple and the Doc
There’s lots more on offer at the Datacolor stand. Once a day there’s a visit from the Doc - digital image processing guru, Doc Baumann, who is organising the presentations on colour pixel technology. Datacolor is also giving four demonstrations a day of its product portfolio, live and in colour. Datacolor, together with partner company and stand guest Apple, will show you how to optimise and manage your digital photos with the Aperture image editing program.
The Datacolor stand offers more than just presentations. It’s also a bustling swap shop: anyone wanting to exchange old for new can simply sling their old calibration device, regardless of brand, into the bin on the stand and order a new Spyder3Elite or Spyder3Studio with a rebate of €50, which will be sent to them within two days. This exchange promotion has been so successful that Datacolor is continuing to run it until the end of Photokina, live on the stand. Plus it’s offering a special discount on all products during show days – what a nice way to shop!
Christoph Gamper, General Manager of Datacolor’s Consumer Business Unit, Europe, says: “Our aim is to make colour management available for all photographers – from beginner to professional. And we are running a live trade-in on our stand where you can get the latest technology to save money and time.”
La Dolce Vita in Cologne
Anyone familiar with Datacolor knows they’ll find more than just products and presentations on its Photokina stand. It's also a place where Datacolor’s guests can escape the show crowds for a while and enjoy a soft drink or a well-known brand of Swiss beer at the Fifties-style “Dolce Vita” bar. On the “Dolce Vita” shooting location life is not only sweet but exciting enough to produce spherical photos. Visitors can use the images generated here to learn about the digital workflow on a separate screen and even take the experience home with them.
