Release Issued by Verbatim:
Fast 16GB Class 6 SDHC Flash
Memory Card from Verbatim
16 September, 2008 Verbatim has unveiled its new speed class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card with 16GB of storage capacity. It offers real-time recording directly to the card with a guaranteed minimum write speed of 6MB/sec and a data transfer rate of up to 20MB/sec. This makes it the perfect flash card for professional digital photography and videography with HD camcorders. 16GB SDHC card is available now for around £39.99.
“With our latest SDHC high-performance card featuring 16GB of storage capacity, Verbatim is logically extending its flash range to meet the growing demand for large capacities storage cards with high transfer speed,” says Hans Christoph Kaiser, Business Development Manager Flash and USB Memory Verbatim EUMEA.
The SecureDigital High Capacity (SDHC) format offers significantly faster data transfer speeds than previous SD formats. It is primarily used in latest-generation devices that can read both SDHC and SD formats. SDHC is not backwards-compatible with previous SD devices.
Verbatim’s new 16GB SDHC card belongs to the Class 6, the fastest speed class, which guarantees a minimum write speed of 6MB/sec and a data transfer rate of up to 20MB/sec. With a resolution of 8 Megapixels, it has enough space for around 4,600 JPEG images or 2 hours of video recording in maximum resolution for HD camcorders. “This means that it is not only suitable for professional digital photography and serial shots, but also for video shot with the latest HD-quality camcorders", says Kaiser.
Verbatim’s 16GB SDHC card is now available now and costs £39.99.
