UK launch for cenOmax with the 7inch F7012A Digital Photo Frame

18th October 2007 Digital Photo Frames provide the ideal solution for reviving old snapshots or home movies that are gathering dust in the hard drive of your PC. The F7012A digital frame from newly launched brand cenOmax allows photos to be elegantly displayed without any fuss from specialist or poor quality printers.

  Unlike traditional photo frames, digital versions display images in a slideshow format - so the only limit to the number of pictures is the size of the memory card - no more squabbling over which sibling gets priority placement! The frame integrates both a USB flash drive connector and a memory card slot compatible with most card types, and has an onboard memory for 15 pictures.

  Another advantage over traditional frames is the F7012A's ability to add special audio and visual effects to the display, supporting MP3 playback through built in speakers, and transitions. The photo frame also features auto-rotate and resize functions as well as a built in alarm and calendar, and user-friendly menu.

  The F7012A 7" digital photo frame is bundled with extra clip-on frames in Orange and Black, but features an innovative 'matting' function which allows users to use their frames around pictures to fit with themes such as Christmas, Valentines and more. The frame comes with 6 pre-defined themes. Digital frames vary widely in price and specifications across the market; the F7012A provides a happy medium by delivering top-notch performance for a very modest price of approx £48.

  The F7012A is available throughout Europe from October 2007 and will be followed by a newer model early next year.

Under the new brand name "cenOmax", Lite-On IT are pleased to introduce the F7012A (the company's first Digital Photo Frame) to the UK market. The Lite-On Corporation is widely known for its Optical Disc Drives (ODD) is planning to launch more IT and CE products under this new brand name in the future.

  The Lite-On brand has a strong position in the ODD market, but the company decided not to use this existing brand name for its new business. "At this moment we want to keep the Lite-On brand exclusively for our ODD business", says Jelmer Veldman, who is responsible for the marketing of the Lite-On brand in Europe. "We have positioned Lite-On as one of the leading brands in the ODD market, and we don't want new product lines, which aim at different types of customers, to interfere with that positioning process. Therefore we have decided to introduce a completely new brand name for this and possible future products, instead of a line extension under the Lite-On brand."
