This month we have a competition with a difference. We have teamed up with Panasonic UK during October, to promote a community competition with a difference; MyPlace.

You could win this camera!
MyPlace not only lets you post your photos for other MyPlace visitors to see, but you can associate your shots with a particular map location and invite viewers to rate your work. Locations associated with pictures ranked currently ranked highest by MyPlace visitors are highlighted on a map of the UK. You can then zoom into the general location and find other pictures associated with places near by. If you feel you can do better, you can add your own picture and pinpoint the location of the shot on the map system too. Your picture could earn enough votes to be highlighted as well.

Everyone can vote for their favourite shots and each week the pictures with the highest rating in various categories win discounts off Panasonic Lumix cameras. The best shots each month will net their owners a Panasonic Lumix camera and a chance to win a fabulous trip to some of China's World Heritage sites, marking Panasonic's sponsorship of the UNESCO Our Place initiative to globally photograph UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Arresting Angles theme
DPNow and our sibling site, Four Thirds User, are exclusively promoting a special MyPlace theme called 'Arresting Angles'. Use your imagination and skill to produce images with interesting and unusual angles that draw your gaze and stir the senses. Your subject could be geometric, or you could bring out natural angular features, or you could tilt the horizon to bring out a clever effect. Or you could view your subject creatively by getting down to a low or up to a high angle of view. Anything with angles and a bit of imagination to create arresting imagery is what we're looking for!
Remember, each week, you could win a £75 voucher towards a Panasonic Lumix digital camera and at the end of October the overall winner of the month for the Arresting Angles theme will be decided and he or she will win a fabulous compact wide angle Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX55. But that's not where it ends, the winner's picture could then be selected for the accolade of overall winner of a World Heritage tour of China. Even if you don't hit the top spot, runners-up will receive a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ50 super zoom camera.
