Fotonation Facetracker Now Available In Minton Digital Cameras
Release Issued by FotoNation:

FaceTracker Locks Faces in Digital Cameras for Perfect Focus & Exposure – Even in Poor Lighting

Burlingame, CA,  September 17, 2007, -- FotoNation, Inc. www.fotonation.com, a world-leading embedded imaging solutions company for the digital photography industry, announced today that its award-winning patent-pending FaceTracker™  face detection and tracking technology for digital cameras is now available in the Minton Brica DigiArt i90, Z870 and Z970 digital cameras.  FotoNation FaceTracker automatically detects the presence of a subject’s face and tracks the position of the face as it changes within the viewfinder preview to assure that portrait photos are focused and properly exposed every time.

The FaceTracker technology uses a radically new approach to identify, lock, and track human faces as they move within the camera preview image frame.  As a photo is being previewed in the viewfinder, the software detects and tracks up to ten faces simultaneously.  Boxes are drawn around each face to provide feedback of correct detection.  Exposure settings are instantly applied, so that faces are never dark, even in poor lighting.  FaceTracker technology is also available in PENTAX and Samsung digital cameras.
