HP Launches All-in-One for Work and Play HP Photosmart C5280 offers lab-quality photos and laser-quality text

LONDON, 25th July, 2007 – HP today announced the launch of the new Photosmart C5280 All-In-One, offering effortless printing for true-to-life photos, laser-quality documents and customised CD/DVDs1 – plus high-quality scanning and copying.

This versatile all-in-one delivers fast prints and copy speeds – up to 32 pages per minute (ppm) in black and 24 ppm in colour for every document.

The HP Photosmart C5280 uses HP Vivera inks, which produce rich and realistic photos that resist fading for generations2. Optional 6-ink colour7 offers a wider range of colours for photo printing. High-capacity replacement HP inkjet cartridges offer more affordable printing7.

Bundled in the Photosmart C5280 are a host of innovative HP print solutions. Enhanced HP Smart Web Printing software3 ensures simple, predictable web printing for usable web pages without cut-off edges. A 6.1cm (2.4-inch) colour display, integrated cards slots4 and HP Photosmart Express, make it easy for users to view and print their favourite photos without using a computer.

Users can remove red eye from the photos, make quick photo reprints and produce crisp, black or colour copies at the touch of a button. The built-in photo tray simplifies printing 10x15cm (4x6-inch) and 13x18cm (5x7-inch) photos by automatically engaging. Users can even print photos and text directly on inkjet printable CD/DVD media1 using the built-in CD/DVD tray and software. High quality scanning enables users to easily preserve photos and important documents for reprinting or archiving.

HP’s leadership in reducing the environmental impact of its technology products means that the Photosmart C5280 operates in compliance with the new 2007 demanding energy consumption criteria set by Energy Star®. Energy Star® is a Energy Conservation Programme of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)  since 6 years also implemented in the EU that has qualified a lot of HP products for accreditation thanks to features such as a unique “soft-off” mode that puts the printer in a low-energy consumption mode without being completely shut down. To conserve energy, users can also turn off the printer completely by holding down the off button for longer than 5-6 seconds.

And as with most of HPs products, an IT ECO Declaration9, the European Nordic country IT environmental declaration scheme, is readily available for this product.
