Colour Confidence offers total colour accuracy with two new packages
Release Issued by Colour Confidence:

New Studio XR2 and Colour Confidence Profiler packages launched

Birmingham, UK, 13th April, 2007 – Colour Confidence, the leading independent colour management specialists, have today announced the extension of their own brand product range, with the introduction of the new Studio XR2 and Colour Confidence Profiler. Ideal for digital photographers, graphic designers or anyone interested in colour accuracy, both packages boast a groundbreaking combination of functionality and affordability. The Studio XR2 offers users a comprehensive starter kit, while the Colour Confidence Profiler goes a step further, providing professional standard tools for both monitor and printer profiling.

“At Colour Confidence we are committed to demystifying colour management, and making it affordable for as wide an audience as possible is a major part of that”, comments Geoffrey Clements, Managing Director of Colour Confidence. “The recent merger between X-Rite and GretagMacbeth has lead to major product rationalisation, and an understandable lack of new product activity. By introducing not one, but two new key solutions, we’re aiming to ensure consumer choice is maintained.”

The Studio XR2 includes X-Rite’s best-selling Eye-One Display 2 monitor calibrator, plus two of the most popular products from the Colour Confidence own brand range – the Kodak Colour Management Check-Up Kit and the Total Balance. The Total Balance, a convenient and durable flexible grey card, helps photographers produce correctly exposed images with good tonal range. The Eye-One Display 2’s Eye-One Match software offers easy and advanced monitor calibration modes, creating an accurate, trusted source for image viewing and editing. The Kodak Kit completes the process, offering an easy way to check the accuracy of your results.

The Colour Confidence Profiler is a complete monitor and printer profiling solution – the first to offer professional level performance for under £500/€750. Built around the industry standard Eye-One Pro automated measuring device, the package includes monitor calibration software and the Colour Confidence Print Profiler ICC profiling application. While most other packages – including most of those in a higher price bracket – concentrate solely on RGB profiling, the Colour Confidence Profiler is designed for flexibility, and is suitable for both RGB and CMYK printers. This added functionality means that should a user’s needs change, there is no need to upgrade their system. The Profiler continues to go beyond comparable systems thanks to the inclusion of EFI Color Verifier, a program designed to help users check the accuracy of a printer profile, spot colour drift problems or check consistency between printers; ideal for maintaining colour control in any environment.

Until now customers have been forced to choose between RGB and CMYK profiling, and either slow patch-by-patch measurement or the more expensive automated reading devices. The Colour Confidence Profiler eliminates the need for compromise, offering both automation as well as profiling for RGB and CMYK printers.

The Studio XR2 (£149/€219 ex. VAT) and the Colour Confidence Profiler (£499/€749 ex. VAT) will be available from www.colourconfidence.com, the Colour Confidence ColorStore network and selected resellers from 1st May.

These products are the first of several additions to the Colour Confidence own brand range planned for 2007; however, the company’s commitment to independence remains.

“A key element of the Colour Confidence ethos is that we are a dedicated colour company providing solutions from all the leading manufacturers”, confirms Geoffrey Clements. “This is something which will not change. However, based on customer feedback we feel there is a strong demand for affordable, end-to-end colour management solutions at both entry and professional levels, and have chosen to be pro-active about filling this gap in the market.”
