New photographic exhibition from VisitBritain
Release Issued by VisitBritain:

Where is the World but Britain?

Stereotypical perceptions of Britain’s coast and countryside are being challenged as VisitBritain, the national tourism agency, launches a new exhibition at the.gallery@oxo from 1 March. Featuring stunning images spanning the whole of Britain, the exhibition also showcases photographs that at first glance could be as far afield as Australia or Africa, but are in fact on our own doorstep here in Britain.

The exhibition runs from 1-18 March and supports British Tourism Week, which takes place under the patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales. British Tourism Week aims to raise awareness of the size, value and importance of tourism to our local and national economies.

The exhibition features images from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and offers the visitor a reminder of our natural beauty at its best. Among those exhibiting at the.gallery@oxo is award-winning, Yorkshire-based landscape photographer Joe Cornish, known for his work with the National Trust, while Pete Seaward - highly regarded for the stunning imagery in the 100% New Zealand Campaign - has now turned his expertise to capturing the essence of Britain. More of Britain’s finest landscape photographers include Charlie Waite and David Ward - who recently launched the first Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition 'Take a View’ - and David Noton.

Jasmine Teer, Britain on View’s Manager and Art Director, says:
“Britain’s coast and countryside is a huge part of our appeal as a destination for visitors. The exhibition will not only remind people of the landscapes that we as a nation are so famous for, but also aims to challenge expectations by showcasing images of Britain that could easily be vistas in other continents. Britain on View is a fantastic resource for the travel and tourism industry and the images here represent only a small percentage of the thousands that can be downloaded and used from our website.”

The exhibition at the.gallery@oxo, Oxo Tower Wharf, Bargehouse Street, South Bank, London, SE1 is open from 11am - 6pm daily and entry is free.
