United Kingdom, 22 February, 2007: Canon announces an update to the popular PIXMA iP90 portable printer with the launch of the stylish PIXMA iP90v. Widening consumer choice, the iP90v is available in two configurations – with or without a battery kit included in the box.
The iP90v’s ultra-stylish, slimline design proves the natural choice for business people and digital creatives on the move. Benefiting from the FINE print head, the iP90v offers high quality document printing at speed. Like every other PIXMA printer, it is also a fully-featured photo lab quality printer.

Perfect portability
For on-the-move printing, the iP90v is a perfect, portable solution, combining the functionality and quality of a much larger desktop printer with an eye-catching design. Weighing no more than 1.8kg and measuring under 52mm high, the printer’s footprint is actually less than the sheets of A4 paper that it prints. The printer sets the benchmark for stylish document and photo printing on the move.
Users have two kit options available to them. The iP90v is supplied as a complete portable printing solution with the LK-51B Rechargeable Battery and Charger Kit (including a battery and a charger attachment) already in the box. The printer can also be purchased without a battery. The CK-51B Rechargeable Battery and Cradle Kit includes a convenient cradle to hold the printer vertically while charging, plus a battery and battery charger attachment, and is available to buy separately. The LK-51B Battery Kit is also available separately.
Document and photo printing at high speed
The iP90v shares the core benefits of all PIXMA printers, including Canon’s FINE print head technology. With a maximum resolution of 4800x1200dpi, Micro-Nozzles as small as 2pl fire ink droplets onto the page with superb accuracy at fast print speeds. Employing high-intensity colour inks and high-density pigment black ink for superior quality monochrome text printing, document print speeds reach as fast as 16 ppm (mono) and 12 ppm (colour).
Fast, photo lab quality printing is also possible. A lab quality 10x15cm (4”x6”) borderless photo is ready in just 81 seconds. Like all PIXMA printers, the ChromaLife100 system ensures a photograph’s print life for up to 100 years when stored in a photo album.
Make the connection
With built-in IrDA and optional Bluetooth (using the Bluetooth Unit BU-10, available separately), the printer stands at the cutting edge of wireless connectivity. Files can be sent directly from compatible PCs, PDAs or mobile phones and printed out immediately, allowing business to carry on outside the office. The iP90v can also be easily connected to a laptop or desktop computer via USB. With additional PictBridge direct photo printing, the iP90v meets the most demanding on-the-move printing needs.
