Phase One ships the P 21 - perfect for fashion, portrait and social photographers with a need for speed
Phase One A/S, Copenhagen, (Monday, February 27, 2006): Phase One, the world leader in digital imaging solutions for professional photographers, today starts showing the third of its new P series digital camera backs — the P 21 — at both Focus on Imaging in Birmingham, UK and on PMA, Orlando, US. The P 21 will start shipping to end customers shortly.
The P 21 is the “Top Gun” of digital camera backs - perfect for photographers with a need for speed as well as high quality images, such as fashion, portrait and social photographers.
At 1.1 frames per second both tethered and untethered, the P 21 has an unrivalled capture rate for equipment of its kind. Images are written securely to compact flash cards at up to 20MB per second.
As would be expected of Phase One, the innovations in speed do not compromise image quality. The P 21 has an 18 mega pixel sensor and can create processed image files of up to 54 MB.
The P 21 is designed to be versatile. There is no noticeable denigration in performance when working untethered, and the light sensitivity settings - from ISO 100 to 800 - means working outdoors and in unusual locations poses no problems.
Like the P 30 and the P 45, the other new camera backs from Phase One, the P 21 includes Phase One’s revolutionary secure storage system (3S) technology. 3S eliminates the risk of writing to damaged storage media by first checking the validity of every compact flash
storage card inserted in the camera back.
Using Phase One’s Capture One software with the P 21 enables professional photographers to capture, adjust, prepare for print and archive perfect images in mere minutes. This increased workflow efficiency and impeccable image quality significantly decreases the amount of time spent in post-production, enabling studios to take on more clients and ultimately increasing studio profits.
